Let’s transform pharmacy together
The FIP Development Goals are a key resource for transforming the pharmacy profession over the next decade globally, regionally and nationally. They align with FIP’s mission to support global health by enabling the advancement of pharmaceutical practice, sciences and education and are set to transform pharmacy in alignment with wider global imperatives underpinning the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Having a set of “One FIP” Development Goals enables us to identify commonalities across all areas of FIP, as well as some unique attributes in each area. We believe it is imperative to bring science, practice and workforce & education together into one transformative framework for our members and the wider profession to clearly set out the goals for development for the next decade.
The work builds on the Pharmaceutical Workforce Development Goals resulting in 21 FIP Development Goals – FIP wide goals for transforming global pharmacy. Each of the FIP DGs is composed of 3 Elements for Practice, Science and Workforce that all form fundamental categories of the Goals. Alongside each Element is a set of mechanisms which form tools and structures to facilitate and support the process of transformation.
With the FIP Development Goals, FIP is set to transform global pharmacy working in partnership and collaboration with our members everywhere.

Introducing a new digital programme to support the FIP Development Goals implementation in 2021

This year marks the first year of the decade of action and, as a commitment to supporting our members worldwide in prioritising and implementing the FIP DGs, we are launching the FIP Development Goals Digital Programme “Setting goals for the decade ahead” — a comprehensive series of 21 online events in 2021 providing insight into the 21 global goals.
Starting in March, the 21 digital events aim to provide description, direction and context for each FIP DG. They will describe how each region can identify and prioritise each goal, and how the goals can support development and transformation as part of global and regional plans for the decade ahead.

Help us spread the (translated) word
We are working on translating the FIP Development Goals into as many languages as possible to widen dissemination, engagement and uptake across the world.
