2026Pharmacist involvement in new psychoactive substance addiction recovery: A mixed-methods study from Anambra State, Nigeria

New psychoactive substances (NPS) represent a fast-evolving global public health threat, yet pharmacist involvement in addiction recovery remains largely undocumented across low- and middle-income countries. Reporting from Anambra State, Nigeria, Prince Maxwell Ofomata, Precious Ekwueme, and Maureen Anetoh present the first mixed-methods assessment of pharmacist engagement in NPS addiction recovery in the country and call for coordinated action across education, policy, and health financing to transform pharmacists from peripheral observers into frontline contributors.
