Aims: The purpose of this study was to investigate the infrared characterization and secondary structure of bee venom by FT-IR microspectroscopy. Methods: The bee venom from Apis mellifera was purchased from SIGMA and used without further purification. Infrared spectrum in the range 4000-450 cm-1 was recorded on Perkin-Elmer Spectrum One FT-IR
