Individual members are defined as persons who wish to contribute to the work of and support the development of FIP. All individuals from across professions, including the pharmacy practice, pharmacy education and pharmaceutical sciences community, are welcome! This includes seasoned professionals, early career colleagues, undergraduate and post-graduate students. |

Early career colleagues
FIP supports early-career pharmacists, pharmacy educators and pharmaceutical scientists by providing opportunities to connect with peers, develop professional skills, and engage in global pharmacy initiatives. Early career members can join the FIP Early Career Pharmaceutical Group (ECPG), a community that supports individuals in the early stages of their careers through networking, knowledge exchange, leadership opportunities, and involvement in FIP activities.

Undergraduate and post-graduate students
FIP welcomes pharmacy students and PhD candidates who are beginning their journey in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, and healthcare. This membership category supports future generations of pharmacy professionals by encouraging early involvement in the global advancement of the profession.

Membership benefits
FIP individual members enjoy a variety of membership benefits to enhance professional development, interaction, engagement and growth. They have access to international collaboration and networking, and the platform to contribute and act in the interest of global pharmacy.
- Individual members receive a unique membership identification number (ID) and a membership certificate signed by the FIP president and CEO, which can be downloaded from the member portal.
- Membership in one FIP section is included in membership, but members have the option to join other sections in addition to this primary section, at an additional fee.
- The membership ID grants FIP individual members access to exclusive member-only resources and benefits.
International networking and access to the FIP congress
FIP is the only worldwide network of pharmacists, pharmacy educators and pharmaceutical scientists that combines the broad scope of pharmacy with focused and dedicated interests of specific professional fields. We have a variety of professional sections.
Individual members have:
- Access to FIP world congresses at a reduced rate (available for individual members who have maintained FIP membership for at least two years before the congress and have paid all the membership fees in full);
- Access to FIP sections with focused programmes and communications;
- Access to world leaders in pharmacy practice, pharmacy education and pharmaceutical sciences.
Development, involvement and action
FIP creates a worldwide development and educational environment through the work of members and through the organisation of conferences and digital events. Individual members have:
- Access to continuing education;
- Access to FIP congresses and digital events;
- Opportunities to participate in discussion groups, working groups and task forces;
- Opportunities to develop initiatives and to contribute to global projects; and
- Access to online workshops, roundtable discussions and digital events to share best practices and address global challenges.
Information
FIP provides access to worldwide information on developments in pharmacy practice, pharmacy education and pharmaceutical sciences. We make this information available to our members through regular communication, website, publications, events and congresses.
Individual members benefit from:
- A free subscription to the International Pharmaceutical Journal (IPJ);
- Notification and access to digital events held by FIP, constituencies or partners;
- Access to abstracts and presentations from congresses; and
- A subscription discount (90 USD) to the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Leadership opportunities
FIP provides leadership in the enhancement of pharmacy practice, pharmacy education and pharmaceutical sciences by issuing policy statements, guidelines and international standards. We also collaborate with and provide input into the decision-making process of the WHO.
Individual members can:
- Access working groups and projects in pharmacy;
- Access new international developments and trends in pharmacy; and
- Become members of sections’ executive committees or the FIP Hub.

How to join
Individual members can follow any of the following methods:
- By completing the online application form.
- By sending an email to membership@fip.org to request the application form, which the FIP membership team will process upon receipt; or
- By registering in person at the FIP booth at the FIP congress or at other events where FIP has a booth.
Once your application is processed, your membership will be activated within 24 hours. You will receive your login details at your registered email address. If you do not receive the email within this timeframe, please contact us at membership@fip.org.
Individual members who join in the last quarter of the year benefit from free membership for the remainder of the year. Their payment will cover the fees of the following year.
Membership renewal
Membership fees are payable every year and cover the period from January to December. At the end of each year, invoices are sent by email to cover the following year. Members must log in to their accounts to renew their membership and pay the fees or visit the online renewal page.
Currently, automatic renewal payments and instalment payment options are not available.
Membership fees
To ensure fairness, annual membership fees are determined based on your country of residence. The FIP uses the World Bank classification of countries into high-income, upper-middle-income, lower-middle-income, and low-income categories to calculate the fees.
Membership in one section is included at no additional cost with the membership fee. Each additional section incurs an annual fee of EUR 16, payable at the time of registration or renewal.

Discount eligibility for early career colleagues and students
FIP offers reduced membership fees (50% discount) for eligible early-career pharmacists, pharmacy educators and pharmaceutical scientists, and free membership in FIP’s ECPG. This is also applicable to undergraduate and full-time post-graduate students.
Applicants must submit valid documentation confirming their eligibility:
- Early career pharmacists, pharmacy educators or pharmaceutical scientists: proof of graduation from their first pharmacy degree within the past eight years.
- Undergraduate and full-time post-graduate students: current enrolment documentation issued by their institution. For PhD students, the document should indicate full-time enrolment.
All documents must clearly show the applicant’s name, relevant dates, and the issuing institution, and must be provided in English or accompanied by an official English translation. Submitted documents will be reviewed to confirm eligibility under the corresponding discount category.
