  Background. There has been an explosion in the number of pharmacy schools in the USA over the past decade. However, starting a new pharmacy school or college is costly. The high cost of starting new pharmacy schools and the difficulties in finding qualified new faculty have spurred exploration into other options for training pharmacists.
