  Backgrounds

  Rifampin (RIF) is well recognized as an inducer of P-gp upon multiple dosing, and a concentration dependent inhibitor of hepatic OATPs following a single dose, which have been characterized in our laboratory. A recent in vitro study suggests that RIF also inhibits P-gp with an IC₅₀ of 29 μM.
