    Medicine Use Evaluation (MUE) is a systematic, criteria-based approach of evaluating rational use of medicines. The Western Cape Provincial Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee identified aspirin as a medicine use problem in light of its high expenditure, ranking as the top 18th medicine on the provincial expenditure report.
