Highlights of the previous FIP world congress (2025)
The Early Career Pharmaceutical Group (ECPG) was proud to have played a significant role in the 2025 FIP World Congress in Copenhagen, Denmark. We successfully organised, chaired, and facilitated numerous sessions and events, participated in poster presentations, and further strengthened our global network of early-career pharmaceutical professionals.
Event highlights
6th Leadership Development Workshop
Held as part of the pre-congress sessions, the 6th Leadership Development Workshop was a collaborative effort with the FIP Academic Pharmacy Section and the FIP Foundation. The event brought into focus three of the world’s most pressing emergencies: Ukraine, Gaza, and Sudan, highlighting the severe challenges to health infrastructure and access to medicines in these regions. The session, facilitated by Mark Rotul, Chairman of the PDA, alongside other FIP humanitarian pharmacists, reaffirmed the commitment of both organisations to using the FIP Congress as a platform for global awareness and action.

Sustainability Pharmacy Hackathon
The ECPG hosted an inspiring two-day pre-congress event on "Sustainability in Pharmacy – Where Are We Now?". The programme featured expert talks, case studies, and interactive workshops. The highlight was the Sustainable Pharmacy Hackathon, where early-career pharmacists worked together to design innovative, tech-driven solutions for more sustainable and efficient pharmacy services. This event not only strengthened professional networks but also advanced FIP's development goals 5, 8, and 21 related to competency development, collaboration and sustainability in pharmacy.
Social Events
ECPG’s social events were a resounding success, providing valuable opportunities for connection and cultural exchange. The Danish Welcome Night at Gorm’s Pizza kicked off the congress with an informal gathering with lots of Pizza, drinks and good music to set the atmosphere right. The International Night at Madkastellet Hubnordic was a vibrant celebration of global diversity, where participants showcased their national attire, flags, languages, songs, and traditional foods. The ECPG/IPSF Social Night offered a relaxed setting to foster collaborations and cultivate friendships among early-career pharmacists and students.
Meet and Greet with ECPG
The ECPG booth served as a central hub for networking, where members, alumni, and representatives from national and regional groups connected and exchanged ideas.
Poster Presentations
ECPG members presented their research and work through various poster presentations.
ECPG-facilitated congress sessions
ECPG members played key roles at the congress. Notably amongst them was the Chairing of the session on Innovative Drug and Vaccine Delivery systems, by Dr Emmanuella Nzeribe. Additionally, some members received prestigious awards, including Dr Praveen Devanandan, who was honoured with the Early Career Recognition in Pharmaceutical Education Award, and Mitch Budden, who won Best Oral Presentation in the CPS Rapid Fire Session.
