The College of Pharmacy is part of “Gulf Medical University Academic Health System” that includes pharmacy, medicine, dentistry, nursing, health sciences, research institutes as well as hospitals and medical centers in Ajman, Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain, Sharjah, and Dubai. This comprehensive structure provides our students with an exceptional learning environment and a unique opportunity for inter-professional education where elements of learning from and with each other across all healthcare disciplines are greatly enhanced. It also provides a great opportunity for our faculty to work together and engage their students in multidisciplinary pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacy practice research.
The College offers a Doctor of Pharmacy “PharmD” entry-to-practice program, first in UAE since 2008 and a Master in Clinical Pharmacy program that offers several areas of specialization including cardiology, infectious diseases, parenteral nutrition, and others. Both programs are accredited by Commission for Academic Accreditation, UAE and the PharmD program is under certification by Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, USA.
Over the years, the College has developed key partnerships and clinical training agreements with numerous healthcare facilities and pharmaceutical industries across UAE and abroad. Examples of such collaborations are with Thumbay Hospitals, Clinics and Pharmacies, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khalifa Medical City Ajman, Tawam Hospital, Al Ain, Julphar Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries and the US institutions Virginia Commonwealth University, University of Iowa, and University of Saint Joseph.
College mission
To pursue excellence in pharmacy education, research and practice through inter-professional collaboration in healthcare, national and international partnerships, community engagement and social accountability.
