New FIP report sheds light on challenges for women in pharmacy

Nearly half of women in pharmacy who responded to a recent FIP survey reported experiencing unsafe circumstances at work, such as threatening behaviour.

This is according to a new FIP Women in Science and Education (FIPWiSE) report launched today to mark the International Day of the Girl Child. With women projected to make up 70% of the global pharmacy workforce by 2030, the report calls for urgent action to achieve equity in pay, leadership, and career opportunities. It also offers recommendations for policymakers, employers, and professional organisations to create safer, more supportive workplaces where women can thrive, lead, and shape the future of pharmacy worldwide.
