DAVID MCDOWELL RECEIVED HIS PHD FROM WARWICK UNIVERSITY (UK) IN 1990 FOR HIS WORK ON PLASMIDS IN BACILLUS THURINGIENSIS. AFTER A SHORT POST DOC AT THE UNIVERSITY HE JOINED LGC AS A TECHNICAL SPECIALIST IN 1991 WHERE HE SPENT THE NEXT TEN YEARS DEVELOPING NOVEL PCR BASED TECHNOLOGIES SEVERAL OF WHICH WERE THE SUBJECT OF PATENT APPLICATIONS.
