  AIMS: The objective of this descriptive and retrospective study is to assess the pharmaceutical needs of type 2 diabetes in relation to primary prevention of coronary heart disease (CHD), because type 2 diabetes is a strong risk factor for CHD and is associared with a 2-4 fold increased risk for coronary heart compared with non-diadetics.
