Background Pharmacists offer a unique role in the medication management process. Regardless of the setting, the pharmacists' obligation revolves around optimizing drug therapy, that is, providing the assurance that medicines are used in the safest and most effective manner. This role is often vaguely understood by other healthcare professionals.
