Background
Venous thromboembolism affects approximately 1 in every 10000 of the UK population and is a significant cause of mortality, long term disability and chronic problems. Hospital Acquired Thrombosis (HAT) represents about a third of all VTE events and is the first preventable cause of death in hospital(1)
Methods
