• Abstract:

  Background

  The use of steroid therapy in diabetic patients will undoubtedly raise their blood glucose levels. However, this rise in glucose can also occur in non-diabetic patients. Steroid induced hyperglycemia most likely precipitates diabetes in high risk individuals.
