  Background

  An independent prescriber (IP) qualification is recognised as key for emergent pharmacy roles in the UK. Prescribing is part of UK medical foundation training; however this is not reflected in post-graduate pharmacy foundation training, often offered as a separate module or programme with limited alignment to foundation programmes.
