  Since humans began to live in settled agricultural communities they have been involved in a constant battle to reduce the impact of pests-insects, mites, mollusk, pathogens, weeds, mammals and bird-on their crops. They have to control these problems through manual methods, intercropping, tillage and composting, as well as more innovative methods..
