The association between ugt1a1*28 and survival after irinotecan chemotherapy: a collaborative systematic review and meta-analysis

  • Abstract:

    Background: Individuals possessing uridine diphosphate-glucuronosyltransferase (UGT) 1A1*28 alleles have a greater risk of developing irinotecan-related toxicity (neutropenia and diarrhoea), compared with patients without these alleles. It has been proposed that UGT1A1*28 genotyping may be used to pre-emptively dose reduce irinotecan for UGT1A1*28 ..
