Since 2003, pharmacists in the United Kingdom have been able to prescribe; firstly as supplementary prescribers and currently as independent prescribers. In order to become a prescriber, the pharmacist must have at least two years post-registration appropriate patient-orientated experience in the UK and pass a General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
