Medication adherence could be considered as part of pharmacovigilance in the sense that unintentional (but also intentional) nonadherence impacts negatively on the responsible use of medicines; nonadherence decreases drug safety and efficiency. Most importantly, addressing nonadherence implies shared responsibilities between patient and healthcare
