At the opening of the 83rd World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Copenhagen today, the Royal Dutch Pharmacists Association (KNMP) received the Health Promotion Campaign Award for its initiative “Running out is not an option,” raising public awareness of pharmacists’ role in managing medicine shortages and reaching over half of Dutch adults via multiple media channels.
The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Utrecht University, in collaboration with KNMP, was awarded the FIP Pharmaceutical Education Organisational Award 2025 for revising a postgraduate community pharmacist specialisation programme. The competency-based curriculum, integrating the CanMEDS framework and Entrustable Professional Activities, strengthens the link between education and practice and has gained attention from both the profession and policymakers.
FIP also made awards to individuals: André Bédat Award: Ms Eeva Teräsalmi (Finland) — FIP Distinguished Service Award: Prof, Claire Anderson (UK) — FIP Distinguished Pharmaceutical Sciences Award: Dr Ranjita Shegokar (Germany) — FIP Early Career in Pharmaceutical Education Recognition Award: Dr Parveen Devanandan (India).
