Antimicrobial stewardship is a healthcare institutional program to ensure appropriate antimicrobial use. When studies indicate that antimicrobial account for more than 30% of the total pharmaceutical expenditure of hospitals and almost 50% antibiotic prescriptions are considered as inappropriate, it warrants the implementation of The access to the whole abstract and the presentation file is available to FIP members and to congress participants of that specific congress.
