    Background

    TS-1 is an oral fluoropyrimidine anticancer agent that contains tegafur, oteracil, and gimeracil. Tegafur is a prodrug of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), and gimeracil is an inhibitor of 5-FU metabolism.
