  Background

  Asthma is a common chronic disease which can impact quality of life. Apart from avoiding triggers, such as allergens and irritants, often-used therapeutic strategies include the use of inhaled corticosteroids. Inhalation technique and adherence to asthma medication regimens tend to be very poor, with nonadherence rates up to 70 %.
