    Background

    Premature cellular senescence refers to the state of irreversible cell cycle arrest due to DNA damage or other stresses. CD9 is a member of the tetraspanins family with four transmembrane domains. In recent years, the overexpression of CD9 has been linked to the development of cancer tissues and cellular senescence.
