In 2007 the government in Ontario, Canada began reimbursing community pharmacies for providing a MedsCheck service (an interview to review usage of prescription and non-prescription medications) to patients taking 3 or more chronic medications. By 2012 about 2 million MedsCheck services at a cost of $116 million had been provided.
