  • Abstract:

Background information: Bioavailability of cefpodoxime proxetil (CP) is 50% due to solubility, gelation and luminal metabolism. Complexation in stoichiometric ratio of 1:1 for β-cyclodextrins (β-CD) and CP was more sensitive to microbes than uncomplexed one and solid dispersion in polyvinylpyrrolidone K-30 improved its bioavailability.
