  • Abstract:

    Background: Up to 50% of adults struggle to swallow solid oral dosage forms (SODFs) due to ‘pill aversion’- a fear of swallowing SODFs, rather than underlying physiological issues e.g. dysphagia. The literature suggests this may be due to a lack of knowledge about effective pill-swallowing techniques, previous poor medication-taking..
