  • Abstract:

    Uruguay has a demo-epidemiological profile similar to developed countries, with chronic diseases as the main causes of morbid-mortality, being cardiovascular and neoplasic diseases the most important ones. Fifteen per cent of the population suffer from cardiovascular disease, with life styles and dietary habits identified as the main risk..
