Only 50% of patients with chronic conditions take their medications as prescribed. With an increasing prevalence of chronic conditions, efforts to improve medication adherence represent an opportunity to improve health outcomes and health system efficiency. Non-adherence to medications can occur at different stages of the medication-taking..
