FIP advances pharmacy practice in all settings as one of its three pillars. Eight sections develop projects and initiatives to help FIP and its member organisations achieve this ambitious goal.
All individual members of FIP are automatically members of the section of their choice. Here, members can interact with pharmaceutical colleagues with similar interests from all over the world, both virtual and in-person (such as at the annual FIP World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences).
The sections are:
- Academic pharmacy
- Clinical biology
- Community pharmacy
- Health and medicines information
- Hospital pharmacy
- Industrial pharmacy
- Military and emergency pharmacy
- Social and administrative pharmacy
Initiatives and activities
Many of FIP’s initiatives and activities are designed to advance pharmaceutical practice through dynamic knowledge exchange and global engagement. The FIP Sections each conduct numerous projects annually to foster collaboration and advance pharmaceutical practice through its different focus areas. These include digital events, regular section-specific newsletters highlighting activities, opportunities for participation and grants, and publications that foster the advancement of pharmaceutical practice. FIP is committed to foster collaboration, ensuring practice that are grounded in science, and growing a future-ready workforce through pharmaceutical education.
