New FIP case study series begins with South Africa

FIP has launched a new series of country case studies, developed with the support of its Member Organisations (MOs), with the first focusing on South Africa.

These profiles provide a snapshot of national healthcare systems, pharmaceutical services, workforce capacity and distribution, healthcare economics, and service delivery. They also capture the unique challenges and perspectives of the pharmacy profession through the lens of FIP MOs.

The initiative aims to support FIP and its MOs in understanding how different countries approach healthcare delivery and the role of pharmacists within their systems. Findings will inform strategies to strengthen pharmacy’s contribution to public health, promote workforce sustainability, and guide policy development. MOs will also benefit from shared learning and international collaboration to enhance services and outcomes.
