“As one of the most accessible healthcare providers, pharmacists are pivotal to ensuring equitable access to affordable, high-quality healthcare services, health education, medicines, pharmaceutical devices, and vaccines,” said Inês Nunes da Cunha, at the 77th World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland, last night.

Speaking on the topic of social determinants of health, Dr Nunes da Cunha urged ministers to leverage pharmacists’ expertise and accessibility in improving health equity and prioritise their inclusion in comprehensive and actionable healthcare strategies and policies aimed at addressing inequitable health outcomes. FIP also made statements on immunisation, antimicrobial resistance, and climate change, pollution and health at the assembly this week. Access the statements here.
