Today, on the eve of Universal Health Coverage Day, FIP publishes a comprehensive report of the FIP global symposium “Accelerating towards 2030: Workforce transformation for better health,” which was held during the FIP world congress in Brisbane, Australia. The symposium marked a significant milestone in workforce transformation, serving as a mid-term review point between the 2016 FIP Global Conference on Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Education in Nanjing, China, and the World Health Organization Global Strategy on Human Resources for Health 2030 ambitions, revitalising FIP’s global pharmacy workforce transformation objectives.

Insights shared from over 40 countries during the symposium led to the development of the FIP Brisbane Calls to Action. These directives, aligned with the current FIP Global Roadmap strategy, reaffirm our objectives and offer a refreshed blueprint for future efforts. The report provides a record of the strategic discussions held at the symposium and serves as a new reference for navigating the evolving healthcare landscape, offering an overview of the pharmacy workforce's current state and future trajectory, aligned with the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, the federation says.
