FIP is one of several signatories of an open letter calling on member states to recognise and utilise self-care as an approach to strengthen health systems.

Self-care supports the achievement of all eight recommendations identified in the UHC2030 Action Agenda and should be mainstreamed within universal health coverage (UHC) frameworks and activities at global and national levels, the letter says. In it, member states are urged to acknowledge the value of self-care in the political declaration that will follow the UN High-Level Meeting on UHC in September 2023. The coalition signing the letter is inviting others to join the call to member states to put self-care at the heart of the UN meeting (click here). The letter is also one of a number of resources available on a new FIP microsite dedicated to self-care, launched today on International Self-Care Day.
