Barriers and enablers to vaccination across the regions determined

Regional challenges and enablers to leveraging pharmacists as vaccinators are revealed in a report from FIP published today. These factors were determined during a series of round tables held by FIP earlier this year. “By exploring the barriers, we can unveil possible pathways for interprofessional collaboration and task sharing when it comes to vaccination services. By doing so, we may achieve higher vaccination uptake and provide better accessibility and convenience to the people that most need being vaccinated, leaving no-one behind,” said Ronald Guse, chair of the FIP Forum of Professional Regulators. The report serves as a starting point for more vaccine-related discussions around the world in order to enable multi-professional vaccine prescribing and administration as a patient-centred approach. The round table events were supported by unrestricted funds from GSK Biologicals.
