FIP World List
of Pharmacy Schools

FIP, as the global leader for pharmacy, has taken the initiative to build the “FIP World List of Pharmacy Schools”, which will be the most comprehensive and up-to-date list of pharmacy institutions from around the world. This global list is intended to guide all pharmacy stakeholders, from students to policymakers, in assessing the appropriateness and effectiveness of pharmacy education strategies. The availability, completeness and quality of FIP’s World List of Pharmacy Schools means it will provide a unique source of information for pharmaceutical workforce policies, procedures and plans.

Further background on the FIP World List of Pharmacy Schools:

The FIP World List of Pharmacy Schools is an initiative to monitor pharmaceutical capacity and capability, similar to those of many other global organisations, such as the World Medical Schools List held by the World Medical Association. Given 2021 is the World Health Organization’s Year of Health and Care Workers, the need for our global organisations to demonstrate increased capacity in all health workers is key to ensure our professions are not further diminished but amplified.

FIP is a founder member of the World Health Professions Alliance (WHPA) with doctors, nurses, dentists, and physiotherapists. All WHPA members have been requested to feedback their schools’ status to the WHO as part of pandemic preparedness, and FIP having a list of accredited pharmacy schools will help to identify where schools may be needed and created to ensure long-term pharmaceutical workforce capacity.

Applied Science Private University (ASU) is located in the Shafa Badran area within the boundaries of the Greater Amman Municipality. The University was established in 1992, and currently comprises eight faculties: Arts and humanities, Law, Business, Engineering, Pharmacy, Information Technology, Nursing, Arts and design, beside the Deanship of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies.
The University is highly distinguished by the several accreditations, certifications and awards obtained on the international and the nation levels.
On the international level: 
A) The QS Stars Rating. By that, it is the First private university in Jordan and the Middle East to achieve 4 stars in the QS Stars Rating; with 5 Stars awarded in five different criteria, including: Teaching, Employability, Internationalization, Facilities, and Inclusiveness.
B) The First private university in Jordan to obtain the ACPE accreditation certification
C) The First private university in Jordan to obtain the ABET international accreditation by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, for its five engineering programs: 1) Electrical / Communications and Computer Engineering, 2) Power & Control, 3) Mechanical, 4) Industrial, 5) Civil engineering.
D) The University was awarded the latest ISO certification.
On the National level:
A) The first Jordanian University to achieve the prestigious Golden level quality assurance certification, awarded by the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions.
B) The Faculty of Pharmacy is the only faculty in Jordan to obtain the Golden level Certification.
C) The Faculty of Information Technology is the first IT faculty to obtain the Silver level Certification.
D) The prestigious Silver level Certification was also successfully obtained by the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Nursing and Faculty of Arts and Design.
