FIP held its first Self-care Summit yesterday in The Hague, the Netherlands, bringing together 30 participants from 13 countries, including Member Organisations, pharmacy leaders and partners.
The meeting explored how pharmacists can strengthen their role in self-care and the management of common ailments as health systems face increasing demand and workforce pressures. Discussions highlighted evolving pharmacist responsibilities, including clinical
decision-making, prescribing, diagnostics such as point-of-care testing, and digital health solutions.
The summit concluded with a panel outlining priorities for sustainable funding, workforce development and scaling pharmacy services, informing future FIP programmes and global advocacy for pharmacy-led self-care.
