FIP CEO Catherine Duggan is the recipient of the Academy of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, Japan (APSTJ) Nagai International Woman Scientist Award. The award is being made during the 36th annual meeting of the APSTJ, which began today.

“The importance of pharmaceutical science in all walks of life has never been more apparent as during the COVID-19 pandemic, where, because of endeavour and collaboration in all walks of science — pharmaceutical science most notably — we have managed to repurpose treatments, develop tests and develop new technologies and vaccines for a novel virus in the shortest time period ever,” Dr Duggan said in her award acceptance speech.

The Nagai Foundation, established in 1986, is a not-profit organization that promotes international exchange in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences.
