Today, during the World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland, the World Health Organization and FIP signed a memorandum of understanding that affirms cooperation and ambition to elevate collaboration on strategic priorities of the WHO’s 13th General Programme of Work to ensure healthy lives and well-being for all ages: achieving universal health coverage, addressing health emergencies and promoting healthier populations.  “We will strengthen pharmacy workforce data and evidence, and workforce transformation to accelerate implementation of the WHO Global Strategy on Human Resources for Health: Workforce 2030, the recommendations of the UN High Level Commission on Health Employment and Economic Growth and the Working for Health five-year action. We will further raise awareness and encourage pharmaceutical scientific organisations, institutions and scientists to facilitate support for universal health coverage and greater affordability of and access to medicines,” said Catherine Duggan, FIP CEO.

FIP has been in official relations with the WHO since 1948.
