Very late antigen-4 (VLA4, integrin α4β1), which expresses on leucocyte, T cell or mesenchymal stem cells, regulates their homing and tissue selective adhesion to endothelial cells. In these processes, integrin changed its structure in the bent or extended conformation. During a bent conformation, integrin can bind with VCAM1..
