To avoid infection and aid healing of wounds, it is recommended to use topical antibiotic. Topical antimicrobials are available as ointments and creams which are not controlled release systems. Alternatively some antimicrobials have been incorporated into dressings to allow controlled release at the wound surface. Ideal wound dressing..
