Multiple daily subcutaneous injections of insulin remain the standard treatment for insulin-dependent diabetic patients. The drawbacks of this treatment have pushed for the development of many drug carriers for non-invasive administration routes but with little success. It is mainly because that insulin can only be dissolved in the aqueous phase.. The access to the whole abstract and the presentation file is available to FIP members and to congress participants of that specific congress.
