<b>Background: </b>Enforcing compulsory treatment for mental illness is highly controversial. Several countries over recent decades have adopted use of compulsory treatment for individuals in the community in an attempt to reduce the burden on inpatient services. These are legal orders which specify the pharmacological and non-pharmacological..
