Medicines for children and pediatric care - an overview
- At: 2004 FIP Congress in New Orleans (USA)
- Type: Presentation
- By: NUNN, Tony (Royal Liverpool Children's NHS Trust, Department of Pharmacy, Liverpool, United Kingdom)
More than thirty years ago children were described by the American paediatrician and pharmacist Harry Shirkey as 'therapeutic orphans'. This presentation reviews the current situation, looks to the future and provides an introduction to topics to be examined by other speakers.
Shirkey was referring to the lack of appropriate labeled medicines.. The access to the whole abstract and the presentation file is available to FIP members and to congress participants of that specific congress.
