Background information: Although the national essential medicines list in Malaysia was launched in 2000, there are no studies conducted to measure the impact on awareness, knowledge, attitude, practice, as well as affordability of medicines. Setting: Healthcare institutions (clinics & hospitals), Public universities & Retail pharmacies.
