Rilpivirine is a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor approved for the combination antiretroviral therapy of HIV infection. As many antiretroviral drugs are substrates or inhibitors of ATP-dependent (ABC) drug efflux transporters, their combinations bear a risk of drug-drug interactions (DDI).
