Although glycemic goals are often not achieved in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients despite the availabilty of many effective treatments, research has shown that pharmaceutical care interventions by pharmacists can improve the outcomes of care in patients suffering from chronic diseases like type 2 diabetes mellitus.
