Alginates are polysaccharides that are often used as non-toxic and inexpensive hydrogel microparticle matrices. CaCO3 is used as an excipient in such matrices due to its ability to stabilise the matrix and adsorb various APIs.
Sodium alginate solution was mixed with glycerol and BSA (and Na2CO3 for SCC type or CaCO3 for NCC type) to which acetone.. The access to the whole abstract and the presentation file is available to FIP members and to congress participants of that specific congress.
