    Background

    A great amount of observational studies imply that the selective cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor and traditional nonselective non-aspirin NSAIDs are related to higher risk of vascular events such as myocardial infarction, thromboembolism and stroke.  Atrial fibrillation may increase the opportunity to cause thromboembolism and stroke.
